Most have used
this perhaps trite phrase at one time or another. This phrase is
used when someone is facing a very difficult problem. There are no
easy solutions, and there is doubt whether the problem can be solved.
Others may join in to conclude it won't be easy and may not even
be possible. So, the pessimism grows. Finally, in exasperation one
says, "where there is a will, there is a way." It is true
though. Where there is a burning, unrelenting desire to accomplish
a job, there is a way.
Let's place this
principle in the spiritual realm. It is the will of God for everyone
to be saved and for the saved to have full knowledge. In 1 Timothy
2:4 Paul succinctly stated, "who will have all men to be saved
and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." It is God's desire
for all men to be saved. If this is His desire, then there must be
a way for all men to be saved. There is. Jesus Christ! Jesus died
for everyone and everyone can be saved. There is a way for all the
saved to possess full knowledge. God has given us His Holy Spirit
and His precious written Word. There is a way because of God's desire.
Many of the Lord's
Churches are searching for the way to accomplish their God-given
mission. However, His Churches should be seeking the will of God.
If it is the will of God, then God will provide a way. He will open
the appropriate doors. He will light up the path a Church should
go. I don't know the way. However, I don't have to know the way.
I must know and do the desire of God. When I do, He will provide
the way. We must trust this principle and let God do His work.
We can discern
the will of God from the Word of God and God's Spirit. When we find
the will of God and trust Him, He will always provide the way. Don't
spend time on a way when the problem seems insurmountable, but seek
the will of God and watch God work and open the way for us to go.
